Armed robbers took 660,000 afghanis from a businessman after he sold wheat at lower price to locals in northern Balkh province on Saturday, officials said.
The businessman had sold the wheat flour in a truck in Charahi Syed Abad area. After selling, armed robbers took away all the cash he had received, said Arash Yonus, provincial head of commerce and investment.
Adil Shah Adil, a spokesman for provincial police, said that the robbers had been identified and efforts were underway for their arrest.
Commodities prices have gone up amid coronavirus outbreak in Afghanistan, that has affected trade and transit.
