At least six Afghan police were killed in two separate bomb blasts in Ghazni and Paktia provinces on Monday, officials said.
Five of the police were killed when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle in Deh Yak district of Ghazni province, said Naseer Ahmad Faqiri, the provincial council chief.
The blast in Paktia province killed one police, a local police official said.
It was triggered by explosives placed on a motorcycle near Paktia University in the provincial capital Gardez.
Taliban denied involvement in the bombing.
Meanwhile, Faqiri said that five army soldiers were injured when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle in Deh Yak district.
