Afghanistan’s health ministry on Sunday confirmed the country’s first death due to coronavirus.
The patient died from the virus two days ago, said Khaliq Azarakhsh, head of Dehdadi district of Balkh province.
His infection was confirmed on Sunday.
The patient was aged 55 and had been shifted to Abu Ali Sina Balkhi hospital.
Afghanistan has confirmed 34 cases of coronavirus, including two in Balkh.
