Afghan mayor of Maidan Shahr city survived an attempt to assassinate her in capital Kabul on Sunday.
Ghafari was traveling when her car came under gun attack in Spin Kalay square, Police District 5 of the city around 1:30p.m., the Interior Ministry said.
Ghafari told 1TV that gunmen fired seven shots at her car.
Ghafari, 26, is one of Afghanistan’s first female mayors.
Recently, she received International Women of Courage Award from the US State Department.
