All public and private schools and universities in Afghanistan will remain closed until April 18 as a precaution against coronavirus, the government said on Saturday.
The proposal was jointly made by the ministries of public health, education, higher education, information and culture. It was approved by President Ashraf Ghani, his spokesman said on Twitter.
Afghanistan has 11 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
Earlier, the government said that New Year events and sports competition will not be held over the virus.
