Afghanistan’s health ministry said on Tuesday it detected first coronavirus outside Herat province, bringing total of confirmed cases in the country to five.
The new positive coronavirus case was detected in northern Samangan province, the ministry said.
Four other cases were detected in Herat which borders Iran, which is one of countries worst affected by the coronavirus outside of China, with thousands of cases and dozens of deaths.
