Several rockets fired in Afghan capital Kabul on Monday as President Ashraf Ghani and his rival Abdullah Abdullah were delivering inauguration speeches.
Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for Interior Ministry, confirmed firing of four rockets.
He said that the rockets struck at the back of Istiqlal High School, Serena Hotel wall, Zarnigar Park and near Kabul Municipality, areas which are near the presidential palace.
Rahimi said that the rockets were automatically fired from a car inPolice Distrcit 4 of the city, as a result of which one police was lightly injured.
A source said that one rocket landed in the parking lot of presidential palace.
“Don’t fear one or two explosions, be seated,” Ghani urged the attendees.
His spokesman said that no one was hurt.
“Everyone is safe, no one hurt, including President Ghani,” Sediq Sediqi said.
