Afghanistan confirmed three new cases of coronavirus in the country on Saturday, two weeks after detecting its first case.
Like the first one, the new cases were also detected in western Herat province which is near the border with Iran, officials said.
Wahidullah Mayar, a spokesman for Public Health Ministry, said that all the four patients infected with coronavirus are admitted to isolation ward in Herat and are under medical treatment.
The new cases are reported two days after the country’s health minister said that mass arrivals from Iran have put Afghanistan at a very high risk from coronavirus.
Thousands of people are arriving daily from Iran, the epicenter of the outbreak in the Middle East.
