Pakistan will close a major border crossing with Afghanistan from Monday to prevent the spread of coronavirus, its embassy in Kabul said.
The Chaman crossing into Afghanistan’s Kandahar province will be closed for an initial period of seven days, the embassy said in a statement.
Afghanistan has confirmed one case of coronavirus in the country, involving a 35-year-oldman who had been infected in neighboring Iran.
Pakistan has confirmed four cases of the deadly disease so far.
