Five out of 10 suspected coronavirus cases recorded in Kabul have tested negative for the deadly disease, Afghanistan’s Public Health Ministry said on Thursday.
Wahidullah Mayar, a spokesman for Public Health Ministry said that a total of 15 new suspected cases were recorded in four provinces including Kabul, Herat, Ghor and Baghlan.
He said that samples from the cases are being tested in laboratory. So far, five cases recorded in Kabul have come out as negative.
Afghan government confirmed first positive case of coronavirus on this week. The patient, in Herat province, had been infected with the virus in Iran’s Qom city.
Officials have declared emergency situation in Herat province, which is near the border with Iran.
