Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has set up a commission to arrange a ceremony for him to take oath of office for second term.
In an order issued on Saturday, the president has tasked the commission to finish preparations within the next five days.
After months of delay, the Independent Election Commission last week announced the final results of 2019 election saying the incumbent president had won the vote.
Ghani’s main challenger Abdullah Abdullah, however, rejected the results and vowed to form his own government.
Abdullah’s side has been introducing its governors in provinces.
On Sunday, Abdullah’s team introduced Abdulhai Hayat as its governor for northern Jowzjan province in a ceremony in the office of Junbush-i-Milli political party led by Abdul Rashid Dostum.
Security forces, however, barred him from entering the provincial governor’s office.
