Eight civilians were killed in an airstrike in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday, an official said.
The victims were travelling in a car when the airstrike hit them in Kakrak area of Surkhrod district, said Ataullah Khogyani, a spokesman for provincial governor.
One child was among those killed, the official said.
This is the latest in a series of airstrikes causing civilian casualties.
Last month, 26 civilians were killed while 24 others were wounded in six airstrikes in different provinces of the country, according to Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission.
