Afghan National Unity Government’s Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah’s spokesman said on Monday that the presidency was not inviting his boss to cabinet meetings.
It comes as Abdullah recently accused his unity government partner of violating a power-sharing deal they inked after a disputed 2014 presidential election.
On Sunday, Abdullah issued an order on recent appointments and reshuffle in foreign ministry, instructing it to avoid “any hasty proceedings under the name of reforms in the center and political missions abroad.”
CE’s spokesman, Mujibur Rahman Rahimi, said that the reform package for the foreign ministry was unilateral and intended to remove Abdullah’s supporters.
He also said that the presidency had not invited Abdullah and his deputies to recent cabinet meetings.
Presidential spokesman Sediq Sediqi, however, denied that the plan for the foreign ministry was political.
“It is only reform for the institution become more efficient,” Sediqi said.
Abdullah’s office said that they were considering nomination of ministers for institutions allotted to it in NUG deal.
