Police officials for Kabul’s 11th district have been suspended and detained after an officer claimed they were colluding with criminals.
Humayon Bakhshi, a squad leader at 11th district police station, said in a video posted on social media that the district’s acting police chief and others were colluding with criminals including thieves and drug dealers.
“I was arresting the thieves and taking them to the station, but the station released them after taking money from them,” he said while his hand bleeding.
Bakhshi said that his hand was bleeding because he was attacked by armed robbers.
Interior Ministry’s spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said that police officials of the district were suspended and detained over the claim.
He said that the officer who made the allegation was also suspended and detained for further probe and for not following the discipline.
