A car bomb exploded in Afghanistan’s northern province of Balkh on Thursday, killing at least six army soldiers, the country’s defense ministry said.
The blast happened near a military base in Balkh district around 4:30a.m., MoD said in a statement.
Three other soldiers were wounded in the bombing, the statement said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
It comes two days after Taliban fighters killed seven Afghan army soldiers in Dawlat Abad district of Balkh province.
