An Iranian official has partially blamed Afghan refugees for protests across in his country last month.
Mansoor Haji, director general of foreign nationals and refugees for Tehran province, said that that Afghans participated in recent protests in Iran and in Tehran districts they nearly played pivotal role.
He said that Afghans had entered Iran due to war in their home country, but now after four decades they are facing a group who have serious demands.
He said that many of the Afghan workers have now become employers, and called on authorities to seriously deal with it.
About 1,500 were killed during less than two weeks of protests that started on November 15 over a surprise increase in gasoline prices.
Gran Hewad, a spokesman for Afghan Foreign Ministry, said that Afghans did not have pivotal role in the protests, adding there was no evidence in this regard.
