At least 10 civilians were killed when a roadside bomb hit the vehicle they were travelling in Afghanistan’s eastern Khost province on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The victims were on their way to a funeral ceremony in Logar province when the incident happened in Alisher district, said provincial governor Mohammad Halim Fidayee.
Five men, two women and three children were among those killed, he said.
Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, confirmed the incident and the casualty toll.
He blamed the Taliban for the incident, but the group has yet to make comment.
