Halting Taliban attacks in populated areas has been discussed in US talks with the group in Qatari capital Doha, a source told 1TV on Sunday.
US negotiator Zalmay Khalilzad resumed talks with Taliban representatives on Saturday three months after President Donald Trump halted them citing a deadly attack in Kabul.
The latest round of talks focus on reducing violence in Afghanistan in a way that the Taliban halt bombings in populated areas and the US stop night raids, a source close to the Taliban told 1TV.
The source said that the sides are likely to agree on the issues in coming days.
Najia Anwari, a spokesman for Afghan state ministry for peace affairs, hoped that the Doha talks would lead to end of war and launch of intra-Afghan talks.
Deputy ambassador of Denmark also expressed hope that this round of peace talks would have positive results.
Meanwhile, political experts believe that this time that the US and the Taliban have no major differences.
Former president Hamid Karzai hoped that the current round of talks between the US and the Taliban would lead to end of violence in the country.
