Fifteen Taliban insurgents were killed in a raid by Afghan intelligence forces in southern Kandahar province last night, officials said Saturday.
Baheer Ahmadi, a spokesman for Kandahar governor, said that the raid by NDS special forces happened in Nesh district near Uruzgan province.
The district’s centre is controlled by the government forces while the rest is held by the Taliban.
Two other militants were arrested during the raid.
Separately, six militants were killed when NDS special forces targeted Taliban hideouts in Nahr-i-Siraj district of Helmand province.
Four other militants including three foreign nationals were arrested.
