Four Afghan forces and 20 Taliban militants were killed in a clash that happened before dawn on Sunday, officials said.
The clash happened after militants attacked police headquarters in Mardian district around 2:00a.m. The battle lasted for three hours until 5:00a.m.
The clash killed 20 Taliban, including two key militants who were identified as Amanullah and Agha Nazar. Four security forces also lost their lives in the battle.
The clash also injured seven militants and three security forces.
