Afghanistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad has been suspended by cricket board of the country for breaching the Player Code of Conduct.
In a statement, Afghanistan Cricket Board said that Shahzad had travelled out of the country without its permission.
The statement did not say which country Shahzad had travelled to.
“ACB has well-equipped training and practice facilities within the country and Afghan players do not require to travel abroad for such purposes,” it said.
The statement noted that Shahzad had previously breached ACB Code of Conduct and was recently called for questioning by the ACB Discipline Committee in relation to a disciplinary matter during the 2019 World Cup.
Shahzad did not attend meeting scheduled with the Discipline Committee on 20th and 25th of the last month. The committee will meet after Eid-ul-Adha holidays to assess the breached by Shahzad to make a decision, the statement said.
Earlier, Shahzad had threatened to quit cricket after being declared unfit for the remainder of the World Cup by ACB.
