Afghan government has urged citizens of the country to avoid visiting Iraq because of protests and unrest.
Citing a letter from Afghan Embassy in Baghdad, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs said that the political and security situation in Iraq was fragile and unpredictable due to protests involving clashes.
It said that despite the protests, a large number of Afghan pilgrims were travelling to Iraq to visit holy places.
It advised citizens to “strictly avoid” Iraq trip until the situation improves in the country.
