Three Afghan judges were killed in an armed attack in the country’s central Logar province on Thursday, officials said.
The victims were travelling on Kabul-Logar highway when they were attacked in Baqi Abad area of Mohammad Agha district at 1:00p.m., said Hasibullah Stanikzai, head of provincial council in Logar.
They had been working as judges in eastern Paktia province, the provincial governor’s spokesman Abdullah Hasrat said.
The judges were identified as Noorullah Qurbani, Zainullah Hafizi and Mohammad Emal who had been working at appellate court, he said.
The attack killed also a court employee identified as Syed Kabir, according to the official.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the assault.
