Police chief of a district in Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province was killed in a clash that started before dawn on Wednesday, officials said.
Kalamuddin, police chief for Charbolak district, was killed after Taliban stormed the district from several directions, said Abdul Razaq Qadiri, a provincial police official.
Three security forces were also wounded in the attack, he said.
According to the official, Taliban suffered six deaths and four injuries in the counterattack.
The clash ended in the morning and the situation returned to normalcy, he said.
