Afghan government said on Monday its ambassador in Pakistan was summoned by the country’s intelligence agency ISI and faced misconduct.
In a statement, Afghan foreign ministry protested the move saying it was in clear in contradiction with diplomatic norms and principles.
“The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, once again calls on the Pakistani Government to align its diplomatic relations with Afghanistan in compliance with international conventions and accepted diplomatic norms,” the statement said.
Relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have deteriorated recently.
Pakistan closed consular section of its embassy in Kabul, claiming its diplomats were being harassed.
In the statement, Afghan foreign ministry said that the government will seriously investigate the claim and reiterated commitment to ensure safety offoreign diplomats.
