Nine children were killed by bomb while they were going to school in Afghanistan’s northern Takhar province on Saturday, officials said.
The blast triggered by a planted bomb happened at 9:00a.m. in Tahiriha village of Darqad district, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The students were on their way to their primary school. The blast also injured a child, it said.
The statement said that the bomb had been placed in the area by the Taliban. The group has yet to comment.
