  • Afghanistan A powerfully defeated host Pakistan A as they played each other Sunday at Islamabad in a match attended also by the two countries’ leaders Ashraf Ghani and Nawaz Sharif.


  • Mixed martial arts fighter Baz Mohammad Mubariz on Wednesday was honored as ambassador of Afghanistan police by the country’s Interior Ministry.


  • Band-e-Amir Dragons beat Speen Ghar Tigers in the 2015 Afghan shpageeza (Sixes) tournament after a thrilling Super Over on Wednesday. Skipper Mohammad Nabi emerged as hero as he helped set 19-run target in that over and he followed that with the bowl taking two back to back wickets to defeat Speen Ghar with a wide margin. Earlier, Speen Ghar, who were put to bat, were bowled out in the 19th over after making 124. Shafiqullah scored 47 off 27. In the chase of 125, Band-e Amir looked under pressure early but Mohammad Nabi struck 43 to bring their innings on track. He was helped by Hashmatullah Shahidi who scored 50 off 49 balls. In the last over, Band-e Amir needed run a ball to win but they lost Shafaq and Shahidi in that over. In the last ball, Band-e Amir needed 3 runs and they made 2 to level the score. The match was fourth in a tournament that sees two matches per day. The win was first for Band-e Amir who had lost on Tuesday. The tournament will last until 13th November and the matches are broadcast exclusively on 1TV.
