Peace Cricket League T20 kicked off at Alokozay Kabul International Cricket Ground on Monday, with Wazirzai Champions beating Speenghar Eagles in the first match.
The tournament involves six teams in two groups.
Group A includes Kabul Zalmi, Sulimanghar Lions and Bost Atalan while Group B includes Wazirai Champions, Speenghar Eagles and Pamir Stars.
The tournament will run for a week with each team scheduled to play two matches before semi-finals.
In the first match, Speenghar Eagles won the toss and elected to bowl against Wazirazi Champions, who posted 168-run target.
The match ended in Wazirzai Champions’ favour as Speenghar Eagles were short of the target by 23 runs.
“Organizing such competitions is very effective for solidarity and national unity,” said Abdul Rashid Ayoubi, a head of PCL.
