Australia's David Warner praised Rashid Khan as a "fantastic prospect" for Afghanistan after his impressive debut at Indian Premier League.
Rashid Khan, the first Afghan to play in IPL, offered a breakthrough for Sunrisers Hyderabad in his first over, removing Indian player Mandeep Singh amid increasing pressure in the season’s opener.
“Oh he was fantastic. He was the talent and seems to be a fantastic prospect for Afghanistan cricket,” Warner, who captains SRH, said.
Rashid Khan totally took two wickets including also of third batsman Travis Head, who is from Australia. He conceded 36 runs in four mandated overs he played.
Wednesday’s encounter involved defending champions SRH setting 208-run target against Royal Challengers Bangalore. SRH eventually beat their rivals by 35 runs.
SRH’s next match will be on Sunday, against Gujrat Lions.
