Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 123 runs in the second semi-final of Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh on Saturday.
Pakistan Under-23s who were put to bat first, posted 267-5 as they played all the mandated 50 overs at MA Aziz Stadium, Chittagong.
Skipper Mohammad Rizwan made 105 (not out), while Haris Sohail and Hussain Talat contributed 68 and 32 each respectively.
Gulbadin Naib was the pick of the bowlers for Afghanistan A as he registered three. Naveen-ul-Haq and Najibullah Zadran took one each.
In the chase of 268-run target, Afghanistan struggled early as they lost openers Shahidullah and Ihsanullah in the first three overs. Both were toppled by Hussain Talat.
But the team could not find a good partnership and their top scorer was Najibullah Zadran who made 31.
For Pakistan bowling, Bilal Asif shined as he claimed five wickets.
With the win, Pakistan qualified for the final which will be against Sri Lanka on Monday.
Earlier in the tournament, Afghanistan beat Malaysia and India before advancing to the semi-finals.
