The Afghan national golf team returned home on Monday after receiving one gold and one bronze medals from South Asian golf event in Bangladesh.
The gold medal was bagged by Hashmatullah Sarwari while the bronze one was won by Imran Ali.
In 2009, Imran Ali has won the silver medal and in 2011 he owned bronze medal.
Eight countries participated in the 32nd Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship including host Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia.
The event which lasted four days, the hosts secured the first position.
Afghan female golfers also played in the championship but they were not able to bag any medals.
Golf federation has been created in the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee on 26 July 2009, as part of creating diverse sports federation in the country.
