Afghanistan Cricket Board(ACB) on Friday inaugurated a cricket stadium worth $1 million in the capital of southeastern Khost province.
The stadium which has the capacity of ten thousand spectators at one time was built within two years with the financial support of Germany.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, attended by local officials and people, Atif Mashal, the ACB chief said that he will make further efforts to improve cricket across the country.
Meanwhile, the ACB has the plan to build standard cricket grounds in the neighboring provinces of Khost.
According to officials, the Khost cricket ground has been considered as one of the standard cricket stadiums of Afghanistan which has the capacity to host major cricket events in the future.
After the inauguration ceremony, the Afghan national stars played a friendly match against the Under-19s team and it was watched by thousands of spectators.
