Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's daughter, Mariam Ghani, has promised to make a movie on Darul Aman in Kabul as it is being reconstructed.
She made the pledge while visiting the historical war-ruined palace along with the Minister of Urban Development Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi on Sunday.
Emphasizing on the historical importance of the palace and hailing the progress made in the reconstruction process, Mariam Ghani pledged to cooperate in the making of the short film, according to a statement from the minister on his Facebook page.
Mariam Ghani is a New York-based artist working in installation, performance, photography, text and video. She is also an activist and a lecturer.
Earlier in 2012, she released a 22-minute film "A Brief History of Collapses" depicting also the ruins of Kabul’s Darul Aman palace.
The project to renovate the palace was launched by President Ashraf Ghani in May with the authorities hoping it would symbolize revival instead of destruction.
