A member of the Afghan parliament was injured after being shot by a gunman in southern Kandahar province on Saturday, officials said.
Mir Walli, an MP representing volatile southern Helmand province, faced the attack in Police District 10 of the provincial capital city, also Kandahar.
Samim Khplwal, a spokesman for provincial governor, said the lawmaker was targeted by a gunman on a motorcycle.
He was taken to hospital in the city after being wounded in the attack.
According to the official, the victim was not in a life-threatening condition.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Previously, the groupattacked the house of the same lawmaker in Kabul in December last year, killing at least five people. Mir Wali was wounded in the attack.
