Two explosions went off in capital Kabul on Tuesday, killing at least three dozen people and injuring many more.
The two back-to-back suicide blasts happened near the parliament building in Darul Aman area.
The first suicide attacker driving an explosive-packed car targeted a bus in the area. As people gathered in the scene, a second suicide attacker detonated explosives.
Saleem Rasooli, an official at the Public Health Ministry, on Wednesday said that 36 people died following the blasts and 76 more were injured.
The Interior Ministry in a statement confirmed death of 24 civilians including four women. Four policemen were also killed in the blasts, according to the statement.
Rahima Jami was slightly injured in the incident.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombings.
Earlier on Tuesday, a suicide bomb blast killed at least eight people and wounded nine more in Lashkargah, the capital city of southern Helmand province.
